Fuel Information

Fueling is convenient for this event:

• A gas station is located right next to the Rodeway Inn in Big Water for pre-ride fueling.
• When we arrive in Escalante, another gas station is available near the hotel to refuel before the return journey.

Dry Camping:
Dry camping is available in the hotel parking lot for a small fee, payable directly to the hotel upon arrival.

RV Hookups:
If you prefer full hookups, Lake Powell Gateway RV Resort is located very close to the hotel and offers RV accommodations with all amenities.

Note: For this event, refueling is convenient. There's a gas station right next to our hotel in Big Water, Utah, making it easy to fill up before we head out. When we reach Escalante, there will be another gas station near the hotel for refueling before the return trip.

Big Water Utah to Escalante Utah

This multi-day ride begins in Big Water, Utah and travels to Escalante Utah, with overnight stays at the Prospectors Inn on Saturday and Sunday. Join us for a weekend of scenic adventure, great food, and unforgettable experiences in the Grand Staircase National Monument.

Friday – Check-In & Kickoff

Saturday – Ride to Escalante

Sunday – Scenic Loop on Hells Backbone

Location: Escalante Utah to Hells Backbone and back.

Monday – Return Ride to Big Water

Location: Prospectors Inn → Big Water, Utah

• 8:00 AM: Breakfast at Escalante Showcase

• 9:00 AM: Ride Departs for Return to Big Water

If you plan to arrive on Friday, please book your own accommodations at the Rodeway Inn in Big Water, UT. All participants will check in at the Rodeway Inn either Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Parking Information

For those arriving Saturday morning, truck and trailer parking is available at the Rodeway Inn in Big Water.

Water: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially during off-road adventures. Pack enough water to last you throughout the day.

Spare Tire: Off-road terrain can be unpredictable. Having a spare tire is essential in case of punctures or other tire-related issues.

Spare CVT Belt: A spare Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) belt is essential for UTVs. It's a critical component, and having a spare can save you from being stranded.

Tools: Carry a basic toolkit with tools like wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and other essential tools for quick repairs on the trail.

Full Tank of Gas: Before each ride or day, ensure your UTV has a full tank of gas. Off-road trails can be remote, and having ample fuel is a must.

Highly Recommended:

Communication Radios: Communication radios are invaluable for staying connected with your group, especially in areas with limited cell reception. They enhance safety and coordination on the trails.

Cell Phone: While communication radios are essential, bringing your cell phone is still important for emergency situations. Ensure it's fully charged and protected from the elements.

These must-haves and recommendations will help ensure your UTV off-road adventures are safe, enjoyable, and well-prepared for any challenges that may arise during your journey.

Day 2: Relax or Ride the Hells Backbone Trail – Boulder Loop
